Craigslist Scammers Portland Seattle

Scammers name: DAVID MORE--email: davidmore20@gmail.com

December 5, 2009
I received the following email from a David More about a a ring I was selling on Craigslist. It was listed in the Seattle, Portland and Eugene areas.

"Thanks for your reply,Concerning my inquiry,am quite comfortable with its condition.I will make payment with (check) and I will offer you additional $50 for going to keep it for my payment, because i really need it. AS per pick-up, I will make arrangement for that with the aid of my private shipper. you can get back to me with your full information as stated below, for the payment: your Full Name:, contact address(not p.o. box) :, City :, States Zip/Postal Code :, Phone number : Be aware that the pick-up will be after the check has cleared into your bank account. Regard"

This is a very typical example of a scam. Usually they offer to give you extra money--RED Flag,
They will have a private shipper pick up the item--RED Flag
They want all your information but don't provide theirs. RED Flag

The bottom line is DON'T FALL FOR IT. They will rip you off because there never is any money. Your bank may go ahead and cash the check but its no good. The scammer will say there was some kind of mistake and you need to wire the money back to them leaving you in the hole.

I received another inquiry about my ring today 12/8/09 from a Bobbie Johnson which was full of grammatical errors and inappropriate questions. I'm ignoring it.

Although it may cost more with fees, I think I will stick with eBay and PayPal for my protection when selling high ticket items. I have had no inquiries except from scammers or possible morons who can't write a legible sentence.
